1. Google Maps - Yes, we know that this comes with every iPhone and that it’s a simple application. But if you get past that you will see that it really is a great application. Sure the current iPhone doesn’t have GPS. But we feel the Google Maps application makes up for that. You are able to search, get directions and even see where you are. As stated, the current iPhone does not have GPS so it is merely estimating where you are. Best thing about it is that you don’t have to download it or anything. It comes standard with every iPhone.

iphone1.jpg2. IM Chat - Instant messaging has become a big part of technology. People want and need the ability to keep in contact with each other. Obviously the iPhone gives you the ability to do that with the phone aspect. But what about messaging? Yes you can do texting but for many that cost to much and maybe they won’t use the service enough to buy a texting plan. That is where instant messaging clients come into play. There are two major applications, Apollo and IM Chat. There are also an arry of line messaging clients. A great one is Meebo. With chatting, phone, texting, email, what else can’t the iPhone do?

snapture.jpg3. Snapture - Don’t get us wrong, Apple knows how to develop software and tools. It just seems when it came to the camera portion of the iPhone they rushed it and didn’t care. The camera can take photos and that is it, no special effects no video, nothing. With Snapture you can take away from that boringness a little bit. Snapture allows you to take photos simply and efficiently. You also get some extra features like black and white, time, shutter. It does not allow video yet, but overall it is still a great application that is much better than what Apple offers.

mobiletodolist1.jpg4. ToDoList - We are all busy and sometimes we can’t keep track of everything. The iPhone does come standard with the Calendar application. Which is very nice and sleek and useful, but not as useful as a Todo list. The ToDoList application is exactly as it sounds, a todo list. It allows you to make categories and then make items that you need to do. You are also able to choose its priority level and then you just check off what you have done. Great application for those who need to be reminded and keep track of their priorities.

zundaglass10bycarlit0smt5.jpg5. SummerBoard - The standard iPhone look can get very boring, very fast. To fix that the best application would have to be SummerBoard. SummerBoard allows you to install themes that can change everything from icons, wallpaper, dock etc. There are also plenty of themes out there, the most popular coming from DustLonely.

colorpicker.jpg6. Sketches - The touch screen on the iPhone is a great tool, it can be used for a wide variety of things. One thing is doodling, it is perfect for it. You have the ability to freely draw or use shapes. You can even draw over pictures you have taken and then save or email them to a friend. Sketches is a great application for when you’re bored or feel like finding your inner artist.

snap_125700.jpg7. BossPrefs - Ever wished you can have total control over certain aspects of your phone? Well now you can, with BossPrefs. BossPrefs allows you to turn on and off numerous parts of the iPhone. For instance, if you want to make sure you do not use the Edge network you can turn it off through BossPrefs. Which inturn will not allow Edge to be accessed. You can also control bluetooth, email accounts, and other aspects.

ebook-iphone.jpg8. Books - We know that the iPhone screen isn’t that big, atleast for reading. But it can get the job done. With the Books application you are able to download and read full books. As stated, it is not the most ideal way to read a book but if you want some quick reading or need to work on a project it is the perfect mobile reader.

customize-iphone.jpg9. Customize - We already told you about Summerboard which changes the theme of the iPhone. Now there is another application named Customize. Customize is a little different in the aspect that it allows you to choose your theme. You choose what to change from the battery image to the slider image. You download image sets and then can mix and match and have total control. Great for those who want a fully unique iPhone.

ufroze.jpg10. Flickr - Flickr has become one of the most popular image hosting websites. Due to that there are already a few applications that allow users to upload photos easily. Upoze is one application that allows you to upload any photo you take with your iPhone. It will automatically upload the photo to your account if you are within wifi range or have Edge. This allows you to take some photos on vacation and when you get home view them right away and share them with friends right away, without having to do a thing.
