Chances are you have heard all the rumors about the upcoming iPhone. There are so many rumors out there that we thought we would compile a list and go through each one giving our thoughts on whether or not it is fact or fiction. These are ones that we feel have an acual chance of happening either now or later on. Also, just like on other websites, we don’t know what will happen and this is all specualtion.

GPS- This is the most likely and obvious feature that will be implemented. There are numerous phones out there with GPS and if the iPhone wants to continue to compete it needs to have GPS. Although the current Google Maps application is good and helpful, it’s not a true GPS. With a true GPS you can get turn by turn directions. Even send an exact location of where you are to a friend.

3G- Another, feature that has to be implemented. This will boost the speed for internet use and make those Sprint Instinct commercials false. It will also speed everything up and make the phone useful whenever a wifi connection is not available. This also opens up more possibilities for developers.

Video Conferencing- The idea of a possible front camera has been tossed around. This would allow the iPhone to not only let people take easier self portraits for their Facebook profile, but also allow video conferencing. With 3G this does seem like a feature that can become actuality. The only issues we can see would be if AT&T doesn’t like the idea and if it will clash with the design at all. If this is implemented it will be a really cool feature but then you would have to find others with this capability.

Video Streaming- You can already watch YouTube on your iPhone but the thought of even more video streaming is floating around. This seems like a feature that is going to happen no matter what. Especially with Adobe already working on a flash version for the iPhone.

Color Choices- The iPod first came out as this white, kind of ugly MP3 player. Slowly. Apple realized it might be a great idea to offer cool colors. That gave the birth of the iPod Mini, then the Nano offered colors, then the Shuffle offered colors. So one would think that the iPhone, which is basically taking the place of the iPod for many, would also come in cool colors.

We feel this is a possibility but don’t expect pink or green. We expect black, chrome, white. Nice conservative colors, atleast for now.

Thinner- Yes, the iPhone could possibly be thinner. But wait, didn’t we just state a bunch of new things that it would have, meaning more hardware? Yes, but with new technologies the new hardware is actually very small and if Apple tries hard enough they could make the next iPhone even slimmer than the current one. Also, if you look at Apple’s history with the iPod, you will see that every next generation iPod was smaller or thinner.

So what can we take from all of this? Well as stated these are the few rumors that we feel have an actual chance of making it. Whether they will come out for iPhone 2.0 or 3.0 that is not sure. Atleast you got to read an article that will make you wet your pants even more for the next iPhone.
