If you have used the App store recently, you might have noticed a new increase in advertising apps. What exactly are advertising apps? Well, essentially they are apps that are geared specifically towards something.
For example, the new 007: Quantum of Solace movie has an app. Singer Pink has an app, Zippo the lighter company has an app and so do numerous other artist, movies, companies.
What is the big deal? Really, there isn’t a huge deal, except for the fact that if this continues the App store could be full of advertising apps. Which would then make it harder to find good apps. Not to mention, we live in a world in which we see advertisements wherever we go. It would be nice to assume that when we turn on our iPhone and begin to look for some cool apps, that we wouldn’t run into 10 advertisement apps.
It still needs to be seen what exactly Apple will do about this. I am sure they might want a cut of some of the money they are possibly saving these companies by advertising a free app. Let’s hope they decide soon and hope that we don’t start seeing advertisements for every movie that comes out.
Google continues to make our lives easier with their newest feature. They have created an app that will allow users to say what they want to search and Google will then search it and have the results.
This is perfect for quick searches and just searches in general. The video below is a walk through of the application and shows just how easy it is to do. This will most likely be released shortly and we will have a full review on it.

So far we have found out that the new firmware 1.1.3 had new features including GPS, changing icons of home screen etc. Then we found out that it fixed bricked iPhone’s.
Now we have realized there are even more new features that may not be as big, but still pretty cool.
-The SMS storage which was set at 1,000 has now been upgraded to 75,000.
-The keyboard can now do two-finger typing.
-Gmail on the iPhone automatically defaults to IMAP.
Wonder if there are any other extra goodies.
Great news for those who have a bricked iPhone. If you load the new 1.1.3 firmware, your phone will then become useful again. The reason for this is because the 1.1.3 firmware is brand new coding and fully new. Which causes the update to change everything and make your bricked iPhone great again!

With the release of firmware 1.1.3 all of our rumors were answered. The new firmware now allows users to change their homepage, has gps capabilities and a few other features.
Now keep in mind if you update to the new firmware there a few things that will happen. If you have an unlocked phone, it will become bricked and no good. If you have a jailbroken iPhone or iTouch it will not be jailbroken anymore and there is no word as to when a new jailbreak release will be out.
The update is great but if you have a great deal of jailbroken applications it might be best to wait.

Announced at the MacExpo was the release of a few new applications for the iTouch. Now, these applications are not necessarily new. They are the stock, weather, maps and to-do list applications. These applications were already available for the iPhone but finally are available for the iTouch.
If you buy a new iTouch you will get these applications free of charge. But if you have an old iTouch so to speak, then you must fork over $20. Steve Jobs just loves kicking us early adopters.

Straight from the official Gmail blog is some great news about a new Gmail for the iPhone. They’ve made it fit even better with the iPhone and made it faster. It also has new features like auto-complete. To access the new Gmail all you have to do is go to www.gmail.com
Seems like Google loves helping out iPhone users.
